Cruising on Motorbike in Bali

Woke up really early today and felt like going for a ride. I have a fully customised Honda Tiger 250 (kinda cafe racer style) that I very rarely use, so I decided her and I should go for a little joyride up the coast of Bali.

I drove up the west coast, through rice fields along the coastline. The beaches in the West of Bali are black from volcanic sand, making them different from the postcard white beaches, but still cool places to visit. It still baffles me that you only have to drive 30 minutes out of the crazy busy towns of Seminyak and Canggu to find completely empty beaches.

I checked out Kedungu beach, a pretty popular surf spot, before I headed further North. I stopped at an overgrown temple to take some photos, before I headed further on. When I go on trips like this, I usually take a random turn at every intersection. I keep going like that until I find something cool, which I pretty much always do in Bali. This time I found a road that ended straight into the jungle, with a beautiful river floating through.

I heard all the sounds of the jungle, including some crazy animal sounds, before I realised it was the sound of pigs, and that there was probably a farm on the other side of the river.

A short little getaway that made this Saturday feel well spent!
