One of my best friends from high school, Jørgen, came visiting me in Bali, so I had to make sure he go to experience something epic. It didn’t take me long to realise we had to go another ride with Bali Dirt Bikes. Jørgen didn’t know how to ride a bike with manual gears, so I borrowed him one of mine for a couple of days leading up to our dirtbike ride. I had him ride all the way down to the bamboo villa and back, and…Continue Reading “Going Crazy with 250cc Dirt Bikes in Tabanan, Bali”
For those of you who have been following me for a while, you know that I love to go on mini-vacation. Living in Bali allows for excursions on a weekly basis, so that’s what we try to do. Yesterday, we headed down to the Bukit, to a villa called Le Bamboo. It’s situated at the cliff above Padang Padang, allowing for amazing views, incredible sunset, and quiet mornings. Instead of writing about the villa, take a look at this tour:
It took me a little while to write this post, as I needed a few days recover from the Air Festival. This year’s edition of the Air Festival was the 3rd one, and it was my second (I went the first year). It’s crazy how this festival has developed since the first year. Three years go, the Air Festival was just a small table on the beach with a mixer and a couple of speakers. Now, it has developed into a full-fledged festival with a…Continue Reading “Gili Air Festival – Techno in Paradise”
What an amazing birthday weekend! Big thanks to everyone who came out to celebrate with me, and an extra huge thank you to Hu’u Villas who hosted my birthday party 🙂 Getting older is not so bad after all!
If you’ve been following me for a while, you know I love to go exploring in the weekends. This weekend, we headed down to the Bukit, the South part of Bali. We had heard rumours of another secret beach, and we had to go try to find it. And we did! It was a cool little beach, hidden in a cove. The tide was too high when we were there, so it wasn’t really good a place to hangout, but we’ll definitely come back some…Continue Reading “More Secret Beaches and a Stay at Le Meridien, Jimbaran”
Unfortunately, Bali is getting more and more crowded, as the influx of tourists keep increasing every year. The beaches in Kuta, Seminyak and Canggu are way overcrowded (not to mention dirty), so we usually don’t hangout there too much. The beaches in the south part of Bali, however, are still pretty amazing. Most of them are also getting pretty crowded, but if you go off the beaten track, there are still hidden gems to be found. This weekend, we headed down to Nusa Dua to stay…Continue Reading “Secret Beach in Nusa Dua, Bali”
As I’ve mentioned before, we love to explore this island, and to take time off for some “mini-vacations“. This time, we decided to explore the North side of Ubud, and headed up to Wapa di Ume villas. Wapa di Ume is a beautiful resort situated about 5 minutes drive to the North of Ubud centre. From there, we drove around on our scooters, exploring the area. Even after all these years in Bali, it’s crazy how unfamiliar I am with Ubud. Ubud town has become…Continue Reading “Jungle Getaway at Wapa di Ume Villas in Ubud, Bali”
